	Holistic Educational Therapy Holistic Educational Therapy is a pioneering new service offered to children with emotional and behavioural problems and their families. A highly successful six year research programme delivered across the City of Wolverhampton has led to a programme now in place, which provides training and Quality Assurance in Holistic Educational Therapy for professionals, working with children. The philosophy of this programme draws on safe, simple and effective approaches from a number of different complementary therapy disciplines, proven to help children with such problems. This meets with a child's individual needs, as identified through consultation questionnaires, carried out with families, teachers and other support professionals. When the questionnaires are complete, goals are agreed for each child to define an improvement in their behaviour and well being. The Holistic Educational therapist then introduces therapies which are the most appropriate to help that young person and very often their families as well, to help them through the stress of the situation. Every three weeks the therapist monitors the progress and will change or modify the holistic treatment and introduce a new therapy where deemed necessary. All the improvements are noted, as are changes in the child’s behaviour. The young person and their family are shown how to adopt these simple, safe, yet very effective, self help strategies.
